I should be studying. Or writing the newsletter for the soccer club. Or organising the GASS trivia night. Or responding to one of the ipisi-related emails.

But I'm not.

Instead, i'm procrastinating, on TIG, on MSN, and I'm quite enjoying it.

Been a busy few weeks for me; Student Ambassador Leadership Program seminars, workshops, camp (which was awesome) and communications committee meetings. Always interesting to be in a program as opposed to running it, so SALP is great fun at the moment.

Soccer is trundling along well, the teams are doing pretty well considering the average age of the players is still only 20, and for the league it's about 27. Newsletter and fundraising stuff goes out tomorrow - assuming i finish collating it all!

Youth Reference Group for council is getting interesting, finally, we're running an expo on alcohol, drugs & teenagers in late june, which should be good. GASS is working well, our logo is almost confirmed (after 6 months), and I've been attending over half of my lectures for uni (just).

All in all, going pretty well at the moment, except for the overhanging spectre of assessment that threatens disembowel me if I don't get up and do something about the 2 essays (only 2000 words each), 3 exams (2 hr, 2hr, 3hr) and 1 class test i have in the next 4 weeks.

Cheers
Simon

PS - ipisi working paper on implementation and vision is currently open for comment; anyone interested (PLEASE?) download it and give us feedback on it; download pdf now

Health Challenge & self-promotion

before i mention anything about being healthy, a few comments and ads from me;

Ipisi pilot edition is ready. Yay. Check out http://ipisimag.grokspot.com to download the pdf and to experience the website.

Went to the ANZAC dawn service on April 25; to see what I thought of this emotionally charged and highly symbolic event, see http://www.takingitglobal.org/express/showcontent.html?cid=1250

And, finally, we won our first soccer game of the season last weekend, a convincing 4-1 victory, hear more about it at http://groups.msn.com/otgsc

Health Challenge
- What is your health goal for the month?
1) Get fit enough to run out a 90 minute soccer game without cramping or getting injured. And,
2) get organised enough to have 30 min of mental time out each day.

- Why did you choose this goal?
1) I'm sick of feeling sore on Mondays and, at 20, should be fit enough to run for 90min.
2) My most productive thinking time is when I'm just trying to relax. At the moment, I'm running around like a headless chicken, I need to get some perspective on where I'm headed.

- What actions/choices/sacrifices will you make to achieve this goal?
1) Train harder, play harder. Actually turn up to training on time, twice a week, and run it out, regardless of how I feel.
2) Spend less time on the computer, staring into space. Replace it with an allocated time each day where I stop, relax, and reflect.

- Any message to other members who are participating in the Health Challenge?
Talk is cheap. Effort isn't. Get out there and have a go.
