Climate Change Petition (Aus)

For anyone in Australia who cares about the environment, check out this online petition, which is being fwded to the environment minister on May 5.

Check out the funky video and then make a submission to the Commonwealth government panel considering the future of the Mandatory Renewable Energy Target (MRET).

Ask them to change the MRET enabling legislation such that 10% of our electricity is coming from real renewable energy sources by 2010, and whatever else you'd like to say.

We are trying to get TEN THOUSAND electronic submissions by the closing date on May 5th so please spam this far and wide to friends and family who you think may care.

ipisi zine need volunteers

Hey all,

had an amazing conversation today with Ben, from SAYS (surfers assisting youth studies), who's part of a three man team that is surfing around the world over the next 2 years. Covering some 160 000 km and 48 countries, the guys, only in their mid 20s (24, 24, and 25), are fulfilling their own dreams whilst also helping young people in Australia to find the courage and drive to work towards their own dreams. A great bunch of guys, even if I they were in the middle of the Kimberley in N/W WA when I spoke to them on the phone this afternoon. Check out their awesome website, if not for the project, for the great scenic photos; www.saysadventure.com

Ipisi has had a great response in terms of contributions and interest over the past few weeks, and as a result, we're looking for more eager volunteers to help us make our dream a reality. We're after web programmers (php in particular), writers, researchers and graphic designers to join our project, more details are available on the TIG project page; http://projects.takingitglobal.org/ipisimag.

Speaking of which, the page has been updated with newer versions of the mission statement, volunteer positions and organisational structure.

Cheers
Mossy

Interface Festival (sydney)

A big shout out to TIGers in Sydney (MArcus, Jarra in particular)
The interface festival is being held April 25-27 in Paddington by Nexus, a cross-university collective promoting involvement in issues (that may mean socialist, i'm not entirely sure)

Anyway, I'm after someone to go and cover it for ipisi, i'll pay the $10 and public transport costs to get there, so if you're interested, check out
http://www.nexus.org.au/interface/
and let me know.
